What is FMS Gateway?


FMS Gateway translates information from the vehicle's internal network to the FMS standard. Volvo Buses FMS Gateway service adheres to the FMS standard and also offers extended operational data content focused on electromobility. FMS is the Fleet Management System which is a standard interface to vehicle data developed by the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA), an EU-based automotive standards group. 

What are offboard APIs?


Offboard APIs are remote application programming interfaces used for system-to-system communication and integration with customer systems. No additional customer onboard equipment is required in order to use these.

What data access standards does Volvo Buses adhere to?


Volvo Buses onboard service adheres to the FMS standard, developed by ACEA. 

Volvo Buses offboard API services are based on ACEA's remote Fleet Management System (rFMS).

Work is ongoing to adhere to offboard vehicle standard Telediagnostic for Intelligent Garage in Real-time (TiGR), developed by the Information Technology for Public Transport (ITxPT).
