In one giant step, Volvo Buses delivered 145 electric buses to the City of Gothenburg. A complete system solution including charging infrastructure. With the introduction of the new fleet of Volvo 7900 Electric Articulated buses, we helped Gothenburg electrify 35% of its city bus fleet. On a yearly basis, this will reduce CO2 emissions by 14,500 tonnes, and passengers will enjoy silent buses at bus stops more than 17,640,000 times per year. It’s a major step in creating a more sustainable city – a Zero City with zero emissions and zero noise. Imagine what electric Volvo buses could do for your city.
Implementation of a complete system of 145 electric buses with charging infrastructure is a complex task. Route length, frequency, capacity and local regulations all translate into different e-mobility solutions for each individual city. Volvo has long experience of the simulation and subsequent implementation of electric bus networks in a number of cities. Read more about how we electrified 35% of the city bus fleet in Gothenburg.
