The Volvo B13R platform features a new engine that combines more power with lower fuel consumption.

“This is Volvo Buses’ largest order of coach chassis in Brazil in recent years. The B13R offers a leap in technology that will support Viação Catedral with more efficient operations, reduced fuel consumption and improved safety,” says Paulo Arabian, Volvo Buses Commercial Director in Brazil.

“Trust in the brand and organization, efficient after-sales and technological advances were decisive in choosing Volvo Buses for the renewal of our fleet and providing even more quality, comfort, and safety to passengers. At the same time, we have improved our operation with state-of-the-art chassis, more modern, less polluting coaches with new technologies,” says Clayton Vidal, President of Grupo Catedral.

Power and economy with the Volvo B13R platform
The Volvo B13R platform features a new engine that combines more power with lower fuel consumption. It also offers new technologies that contribute to reducing operating costs, including an advanced engine cooling system and electric fans that only operate when required.

The coaches are even safer with Volvo Engine Braking Plus, delivering braking power of 510hp, making it the most powerful braking system on the coach market. Another important feature is Electronic Stability Program (ESP), a technology that drastically reduces the possibility of skidding and rollovers. In addition, the chassis have disc brakes with a 5th generation EBS electronic control system.

A new, ergonomic dashboard and steering wheel, with Bluetooth and controls within easy reach support the driver. The use of LNE60 steel also reduces weight and makes the chassis of the Volvo B13R the lightest option on the market.
