Volvo Buses has entered a strategic partnership with Marcopolo to expand its product portfolio and strengthen its presence in the European coach market. The partnership brings a new premium solution to customers in France and Italy – the Volvo B13R chassis paired with Marcopolo’s Paradiso G8 1200 body.
The partnership means that complete coaches will be available through Volvo’s established dealer networks in both countries, with Volvo Buses responsible for sales and after-sales service. The vehicles will be offered in both 4x2 and 6x2 configurations, adapted to the requirements of local operators.
“This partnership with Marcopolo further strengthens our offering to customers in France and Italy, and later in other European countries,” says Thomas Nylund, Head of Europe at Volvo Buses. “MarcopoIo is already a trusted partner in several markets, and together we can now provide a premium coach that combines Volvo Buses’ renowned chassis technology with Marcopolo’s modern design. The partnership with Marcopolo will give us even more flexibility to respond to the various needs of our customers.”
The Paradiso G8 1200 coach, built in Marcopolo’s Brazilian facilities and integrated with Volvo Buses’ Volvo B13R chassis from Sweden, highlights both companies’ expertise in delivering quality, safety and comfort at global standards. The model is currently undergoing homologation for operation in European markets, including compliance with strict requirements on safety, durability, and cybersecurity. The first deliveries in France and Italy are expected by the end of 2026.
