Volvo Buses bodybuilding partner MCV is now opening an all-new, Volvo-dedicated special production line for the manufacturing of complete electric city and intercity buses for European markets. By strengthening its partnership with MCV, Volvo Buses is continuing to develop its business model. The new facility, located at MCVs premises outside Cairo, Egypt, has been built to meet the highest standard of quality and production requirements, and was formally inaugurated on September 16.

Goiânia, in Brazil, will be the first city in the world to have regular operations of 100% electric bi-articulated buses. This achievement is the result of a deal between Volvo Buses and GreenMob Capital, an investment company of the HP Group, specialized in structuring capital-intensive projects associated with the urban mobility sector. The order consists of 21 Volvo BZRT buses: 16 articulated and 5 bi-articulated models. They will operate on the East-West BRT line of the Metropolitan Collective Transport Network of Goiânia.

Volvo Buses has started the production of its first electric bi-articulated bus chassis. Volvo Buses has launched the new Volvo 7800 Electric in Mexico, the first electric articulated and bi-articulated bus manufactured in the country. Volvo Buses has received an order from Svealandstrafiken for a total of 106 electric buses to operate in the counties of Västmanland and Örebro in Sweden. During the spring of 2025, Volvo Buses, together with the public transport companies VL and Svealandstrafiken, will be testing a new and innovative self-driving support system for bus drivers in Västerås, Sweden. The support system enables buses to drive independently into and out of bus stops. It is designed primarily to reduce the stress on drivers, but also to lower the environmental impact of the buses and increase safety and comfort for passengers.
