Volvo Buses receives major order for 106 electric buses from Svealandstrafiken
Volvo Buses has received an order from Svealandstrafiken for a total of 106 electric buses to operate in the counties of Västmanland and Örebro in Sweden. The initial order included 60 Volvo 8900 Electric – the first orders since the model was launched – and 13 Volvo 7900 Electric Articulated. Svealandstrafiken has now placed a call-off for a further 33 Volvo 7900 Electric Articulated.

Volvo Buses tests the bus technology of the future in the Västerås public transport system
During the spring of 2025, Volvo Buses, together with the public transport companies VL and Svealandstrafiken, will be testing a new and innovative self-driving support system for bus drivers in Västerås, Sweden. The support system enables buses to drive independently into and out of bus stops. It is designed primarily to reduce the stress on drivers, but also to lower the environmental impact of the buses and increase safety and comfort for passengers.

Volvo Buses receives order for 55 chassis from Hong Kong bus operator Kwoon Chung
Hong Kong's largest non-franchised bus operator Kwoon Chung has signed a purchase agreement for 100 Volvo B8R and Volvo B13R units in total, whereof 55 buses is a firm order. The first buses will be in operation in the beginning of 2025.
