Volvo Bus heeft een intentieverklaring ondertekend met opbouwer MCV (Manufacturing Commercial Vehicles) met de intentie carrosserieën te bouwen voor zijn elektrische bussen voor het stads- en streeksegment op de Europese markt. Het is de bedoeling dat de serieproductie in de zomer van 2024 van start gaat en dat de eerste elektrische bussen begin 2025 aan klanten in Europa worden geleverd.
Voor Tide Buss zijn online services een natuurlijk onderdeel van de dagelijkse activiteiten in Tromsø, Noorwegen. Met Volvo Connect krijgt Tide snel en eenvoudig een volledig overzicht over al zijn bussen. Het is ook een belangrijk hulpmiddel om ongeplande stops te vermijden, brandstofverbruik te verminderen, de werkomgeving van de chauffeurs te verbeteren en passagiers veilige en comfortabele reizen te bieden.
De ECO3-luchtreiniger produceert ozongas en is een van de meest effectieve manieren om chauffeurs en passagiers te beschermen tegen bacteriën en virussen. Hellbergs Buss in Zweden en Meurer Touristik in Duitsland zijn twee bedrijven die de luchtreinigers in hun bussen hebben geïnstalleerd tijdens de pandemie. "Dankzij de ECO3 hebben we al verschillende nieuwe boekingen ontvangen", zegt Mikael Hellberg.
Touringcarbedrijven staan voor de start van een nieuw seizoen met minder passagiers en nog steeds geldende reisbeperkingen. "Snelle en effectieve oplossingen die met de huidige marktsituatie rekening houden, zijn essentieel om onze klanten te helpen bij de herstart van hun bedrijf", zegt Karl Johansson, Business Development Director, Coach Europe bij Volvo Bus.

Historic contract for Prevost - largest order ever of coaches to New York State
Prevost, a company in the Volvo Group and one of North America's leading motorcoach manufacturers, is proud to announce the largest contract in its history with a major order from the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) of New York State. The MTA has awarded Prevost a contract to manufacture 381 coaches, including a firm order for 250 coaches to be delivered between 2025 and 2026, as well as options to purchase an additional 131 coaches.

Luxembourg operator DEMY SCHANDELER S.àr.l. (Demy Cars) has ordered 15 Volvo 7900 Electric buses to operate in intercity traffic. It is the first order for Volvo electric buses with Volvo 7900 Electric bodies built by MCV. The order shows confidence in Volvo Buses’ new partnership with bodybuilder MCV, with the buses set to be delivered in spring 2025.

Volvo Buses continues its global electromobility journey in Latin America
Volvo Buses has begun the first demonstration of its 100% electric city bus in real operation in Latin America. The Volvo BZL Electric will run on two routes in Curitiba, Brazil, which connect dozens of neighbourhoods, transporting 135,000 passengers daily and integrating with the city's BRT in several terminals. Further demonstrations of the Volvo BZL Electric will follow in São Paulo, Bogotá, Colombia and Santiago, Chile.

Volvo Buses has secured an order for 50 Volvo BZL Electric double deck buses from Edinburgh-based Lothian Buses, the UK’s largest municipal bus company. Three major UK orders have now been confirmed this year. The total number of Volvo electric buses for the UK, including all orders to date and those set to be delivered in the near future, is now over 500.

Volvo Buses is changing its business model in Europe and will apply the same successful model as it has on several other markets. This means that Volvo Buses will focus its production on chassis and together with external bodybuilders offer customers in Europe a complete range of city and intercity buses as well as coaches for the premium segment. Consequently, Volvo Buses has decided to close its bodybuilding factory in Wroclaw, Poland, during the first quarter of 2024. Volvo Buses has signed a Letter of Intent regarding the divestment of its premises to Vargas Holding. A restructuring provision of SEK 1.3 billion will negatively impact operating income in the first quarter of 2023.
Belgian public transport operator Opérateur de Transport de Wallonie (OTW), operating under the commercial name TEC, has ordered 97 Volvo 7900 S-Charge buses. The large order follows previous recent deliveries of Volvo Buses hybrid vehicles which have shown exceptional reliability.

Prevost announces a major electrification program with the support of the Government of Quebec
Sainte-Claire, Quebec, April 7, 2022 – Prevost, part of the Volvo Group, announces a new electrification program. Through this five-year program, Prevost will develop a new 100% electric coach as well as a retrofit kit to convert diesel engines into electric propulsion systems.
